Safe and Supportive Schools Collaborative

Students should be able to attend schools with positive environments that hone their talents and address their issues without the use of the criminal justice system.

Schools must transition from punitive policies that criminalize students to research-based intervention systems that consider the needs of each individual student.

"We advocate for school districts to employ more mental health counselors, social workers, and school psychologists."
Campaign Overview

What we stand for

The SSSC aims to make schools more welcoming environments and increase academic success for   students who have been historically marginalized by advocating for alternatives to exclusionary discipline and school policing. This includes Black and Latino students, LGBTQ students, students with a disability, homeless, dual status, and underserved students of low socioeconomic status.
